From the series Traces of Origin
A fractured surface of marble dust and pigment is overlaid with a matte sanded layer of epoxy, creating depth while simultaneously introducing distance. Cracks, ruptures and traces remain visible and are sealed within the material.
Fragments from the poem Steps by Hermann Hesse are embedded into the surface in gilded readable Kurrent script. Depending on the light, the writing appears more or less visible, emerging and disappearing again. In this way, the work moves between memory, transformation and the sense of an ongoing transition.
The work belongs to the series Traces of Origin, which explores origin, memory, displacement and the traces of the past.
Privately exhibited in a church setting, Berlin, summer 2025.
