Hi, I’m Nadja. I am a Berlin based visual artist working with painting and mixed media.
In my practice, I translate landscape, natural fragments and figurative elements into abstract visual structures. My work moves between abstraction and figuration and develops through a process based approach, built layer by layer in dialogue with the image.
At the core of my work are three interconnected themes: the transformation of perception, the relationship between destruction and preservation, and the search for an underlying, unseen order. These themes do not appear as narrative motifs but are embedded in the structure of the images themselves.
Recurring elements include fragmented landscapes, inorganic structures and animal-like forms. Material is not only a means but an integral part of the concept and plays a key role in shaping the visual impact of the work.
My works develop over extended periods of time and are part of an ongoing process that unfolds across series.
Series
These series bring together works developed over several years across different phases of my practice. They reflect an ongoing exploration between observation, construction and dissolution, shaped by material, process and variation. Some works remain closely tied to the visible world, while others move toward abstraction, fragmentation and reconfiguration. Across the series, images evolve through repetition, layering and continuous transformation. Together, they form a shifting field of approaches rather than a fixed narrative.
